Telephone Treasure Trail

As in previous years, Aston and Rotherham both provided clue-holders for the quiz. The two groups then tackled the TTT on separate evenings.

Rotherham had chosen Thursday- a decision we may need to reconsider for next year, as only four of us were able to attend- Margaret, Chris, Nicky and Carole T, who acted as hostess for the evening.

However, because we were such a small group, we were able to stay quite focused. We had already worked out that the theme was “Water” - appropriate for this year, we felt. We found the quiz mainly easy, once we got going, and had solved all but two clues by about 8.45.

We struggled a bit with the last two clues, but with the help of refreshments and useful suggestions from Stuart (plus a couple of phone calls to Pat) we finished soon after 9.30.

We keep our fingers crossed now to see if we get lucky, and have our Christmas celebrations funded by our TTT winnings. It has happened in the past!

Princes of Wales Wednesday 24 October -.  Nine members attended an interesting meeting (and hopefully improved their historical knowledge) where short biographies of six different Princes of Wales were given.  These ranged from Edward, The Black Prince to Albert who became Edward VII.  Some discussion ensued on the relevance of the monarchy and the position of the Prince of Wales.
