







In January, 12 members gathered at Judith’s house to watch the film To Kill a Mockingbird. Everyone had read the book and the discussion afterwards revolved round comparing the two. Although everyone enjoyed the film, it was generally felt that the film was constrained by the time limits of a film and was unable to follow and develop the characters as faithfully as the book. Discussion also took place about how attitudes had changed since the book was written, particularly as the first black president had been inaugurated that week.
